These are the lovely Lasta – our dear new barefoot sandals for kids. Sporting a fun & functional design, these leather sandals feature an anatomic shape and plenty of awesome color choices.
Healthy natural footwear characteristics that make Tikki Shoes desired worldwide are – and forever will be – main components of our intensive work. Quality fairtrade materials, barefoot principles and flexible nonrestrictive designs help the correct growth and development of feet. Children who are barefoot as much as possible and wear barefoot or barefoot friendly footwear have better posture, take excellent first steps, then continue walking skillfully and connected.
The sandals shape is very versatile and will fit both a low and a high instep, as well as a thin or a chubby ankle. Airy and very comfortable, Lasta are great summer shoes developed exclusively through intensive research and testing. Easy to put on, even easier to forget that they’re on, these sandals were created to keep kids feet healthy and happy. As always, Tikki Shoes are handcrafted in our ethical workplace situated in Romania, within the European Union and in total compliance with EU standards. To these standards we add our vast experience in shoemaking and a sincere love for crafting.
Most Tikki Shoes products are manufactured from natural leather and so must be cared for in the manner usually applicable to leather footwear, with a few exceptions:
1. You must not wash the footwear in a washing machine! Due to rather long washing cycles, their duration usually exceeding an hour, the leather is submerged in water for too long which can result in its scaling and shrinking when drying. Additionally, the risk of colour transfer increases in contact with water. Tikki shoes should only be cleaned with special leather care products.
2. The velour leather requires periodical cleaning when the surface becomes dirty or greasy. You don't need to clean it very frequently.
In this case you must use a dedicated product, such as Bamboo Lotion.
3. The outside leather of baby shoes/outdoor footwear/sandals/wool boots must be cleaned only with special leather care products.
4. The drying must occur slowly and exclusively at room temperature: avoid drying the footwear next to heat sources (radiator, stove, fan, fire, hair dryer or other heat sources, or by exposing the footwear to direct sunlight) which would harden the leather and cause scaling on its surface.
5. Do not use bleach, detergents or solvent-based solutions to clean the footwear.
Deposit the footwear in dry spaces and in boxes to avoid colour transfer; avoid moisture.
Avoid getting caught or stepping on sharp metal objects, stones, glass shards, oils, fuel, and thinners. The warranty does not cover damage resulting from poor roads, footpaths or pavements, or from using the footwear on other rough, abrasive or corrosive surfaces.
We are not liable for damages resulting from not following the above mentioned instructions, or for discomfort resulting from wearing the wrong size or model/fitting of shoes.

Wow. We could not be more impressed with these sandals. We wanted something that looked nice enough to wear for fancier events and church in the summer time, but would also be good outside at the beach, our farm, and the yard. These checked all those boxes. Our child wore them every warm day for a year and they are still completely functional and look good enough to pass on to another child. A little leather oil and they’d be good as new.
The care instructions said not to get them wet, but that’s impossible with our farming lifestyle. If it wasn’t playing with the hose that got them wet almost daily, it was the wet grass or puddles. Countless days of getting completely soaked and you can hardly tell. They have held up to all the elements around a farm better than shoes I’ve bought made for that purpose. Excellent craftsmanship. So glad we bought these, and we just ordered the next few sizes up in this exact shoe for this year!
